Brooke is an Advanced/4* event rider based in Washington, PA. Brooke started riding at the age of 6 under the watchful eye of her mother, Karin. After learning the value of patience and practice from a select few ponies (some naughty and some nice), Brooke took on her first serious event horse at the age of 12. This horse was a homebred Thoroughbred named Break Away aka Benji. Karin had competed Benji’s dam through the Intermediate level. Brooke self-produced Benji through Training level and they did their first Training 3-Day together in 2016. Brooke was also bringing along one very special OTTB during this time.
Eternal Hope came to Brooke as a four-year-old and together they moved up the levels completing their first 2* together in 2016. In 2017 they did the North American Young Rider Championships together at Rebecca Farm in Kalispel, Montana. Brooke moved Hope up to Intermediate later that year. In 2020 they did their first 3* together and later that year Hope was retired. She now has two foals on the ground that we hope will be the future of Brooke Burchianti Eventing.
Brooke went to school at James Madison University where she earned her B.S. in Sports and Recreation Management and minored in both Business and Economics. She rode on the JMU eventing team during her time in college. Brooke took a semester off in the fall of 2020 to work for Olympian, Stephen Bradley. Under Stephen she improved her riding, grooming, and barn management skills. She will always be thankful for the wisdom Stephen passed on and she still periodically seeks his advice.
Cooley Space Grey, or Astro as we affectionally know him, is Brooke’s current Advanced ride. Brooke met Astro as a 6-year-old in Ireland through Richard Sheane of Cooley Farm. Brooke has produced Astro herself and is proud of the very tight partnership they’ve formed over the years. Astro can be quite quirky and while some people would disapprove of his suspecting nature, Brooke has always appreciated his personality.
In 2023 Brooke went back to Cooley Farm and purchased Cooley Constellation, or Aries. Aries is a very exciting prospect who Brooke hopes to have at the top levels one day too. Other accomplishments include the United States Pony Club H-A certification and the United States Dressage Federation Bronze medal. Brooke hopes to one day compete at the five-star level in eventing. Brooke has ridden many different types and prides herself in being able to adapt to the horse. Brooke has also lessoned with Jimmy Wofford, Willliam Fox-Pitt, Kim Severson, Tim Bourke, and Boyd Martin.
She hopes to pass some of the knowledge she’s gained from these masters onto her students. If you’re looking for a place to gain confidence, feel heard, and improve your riding and horsemanship skills, join us at Brooke Burchianti Eventing.
